SPECS:
-
Case: The SEEK'S case design was inspired by the 60's and 70's era of horology and is crafted in titanium (grade 2) and complemented with a fully brushed finish. While the case thickness is substantial at 13.4mm, the titanium case material makes for a less "top heavy", more versatile timepiece that's more suitable for everyday wear when compared to a stainless steel dive watch. With plenty of wrist presence, the SEEK weighs in at a mere 130 grams on the titanium bracelet, which is considerably light for a dive watch. It has a 42mm diameter for excellent clarity, with a lug-to-lug length of just 48.5mm.
-
Dial and Hands: The custom designed hands are extremely legible not just during the day, but also at night with applied Swiss Super-LumiNova (BGW9). The glossy applied markers give contrast to the smooth matte dial and are filled with Super-LumiNova (BGW9). The sapphire crystal, which is 4.5mm thick, has anti-reflective coating on the inside to reduce glare which also increases legibility. The minute track on the dial has a sloped rehaut to create depth within the dial.
-
Bezel: Made with Swiss precision, the 120 click unidirectional titanium/ceramic bezel has virtually no back play. It has a distinctive, aggressive, chunky coin edge that provides extreme levels of grip. The bezel insert is made from black ceramic with deeply debossed numbers and markers. The pip at the 12:00 position is lumed in Swiss Super-LumiNova (C1) for a more vintage appearance.
-
Water Resistance: Built with an impressive up to 300 meters or 1,000 feet of water resistance, the SEEK can be worn on any adventure. Whether your at the office or at the beach, just throw on the SEEK for your everyday adventures and leave your worries behind.
-
Crown: Made from titanium (grade 2), the crown is "worthy" at 8mm. It was designed for ease of use, even with gloves on.
-
Bracelet/Clasp: Swiss engineered with three link construction, the 4mm thick bracelet features two quick release spring bars on each end so you can swap out another strap within seconds, all without a special tool. The bracelet also comes with extra links for wearers with larger wrists and a complimentary screwdriver for sizing. The titanium (grade 2) buckle has a fold-over safety clasp, a twin-trigger release mechanism and three micro-adjust holes. Sizing is achieved with a "pin" system. High end FKM rubber straps with quick release spring bars are available in our shop to compliment your SEEK.
-
Movement: The beating heart of the SEEK is the Swiss made Sellita SW200-1. It features manual winding and hacking capabilities, a 38 hour power reserve, and can produce 28,000 beats per hour (vph).
-
Packaging: VARIUS Watch Company is stepping up to make more conscious decisions that make positive impacts on the environment. All of our watches come with a travel case that was meant to be a travel companion that you take on all of your adventure's. The case was custom designed to hold up to 2 watches, extra straps and a special tool for resizing the bracelet along with a warranty card.
We will continue our efforts and promise to do our best to ensure all VARIUS watches and packaging are good for the planet.
The SEEK blends classic, minimalist, and contemporary design without all of the unnecessary decorations or complications sometimes found in other brands. The case has a been designed to fit virtually any size wrist. Every dimension has been taken into consideration making it extremely comfortable to wear. Not only do the dimensions make the SEEK comfortable to wear but the case material (titanium) adds another dimension of extreme comfort because it is extremely lightweight.
Titanium also has a lower heat transfer coefficient, so it feels cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter against your skin.
Here are some advantages of titanium:
-
100% corrosion resistant, meaning it will never rust, making it a great material choice for a dive watch.
-
100% biocompatible- anyone with an allergy to Nickle (which is in 316L stainless steel) now have an alternative
-
30-40% lighter than stainless steel
-
Non-Ferromagnetic- any electromagnetic object will not attract to the metal. Automatic movements are susceptible to magnetism.
-
Lower heat transfer- feels cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter
-
Can easily remove scratches
-
Aesthetically pleasing- titanium has a dull, satin-esque gray tone that gives the watch a premium look.
-
Titanium is exceptionally strong.
Titanium like stainless steel unfortunately is inherently not scratch proof, but natural oxidation of the metal allows for smaller scratches to become less visible over time. New scratches on a watch might look scary at first, but after some time they will blend in together. All watches whether titanium or stainless steel will eventually, no matter how careful you are, will pick up the occasional noticeable scratch or scratches. For those who are a little more anal like me, there is actually a relatively easy fix for restoring a brushed titanium watch case and or bracelet.
You can use a TITANIUM Refinishing Pad by "MAGIC WATCH TOOLS" sold on AMAZON or you can just use a 3M Scotchbrite pad. This technique is NOT recommended to use on white gold, PVD or coated, ceramic, plated metal or high polish (mirrored) surfaces. You can remove scratches, scuffs, flaws and restore your brushed watch case, bracelet, clasp or bezel to New Condition just in a few minutes! Either of these small pads will produce GREAT results.
Follow these steps:
1. Make sure that piece to be refinished is clean. If not, you can start by washing it with dish-soap and warm water then dry it completely. If your watch isn't waterproof, skip this step or use soft, damp cloth.
2. If the area you are refinishing consist of both: high polish and brushed /satin finished areas please mask the high polish areas with usual masking tape before applying the refinishing pad.
3. Hold the watch in your hand by inserting your fingers through the bracelet and positioning it between your fingers and your thumb (stretching out the bracelet).
4. Take your refinishing pad and buff in gentle downward strokes, moving away from case with light to medium pressure (from one end of the bracelet to the clasp). Do your best to create a linear motion, trying not to turn the pad as you reach each end. NOTE: As every watch is different, take note as to which way the "grain", is supposed to go on your case and try to replicate that same pattern when buffing.
5. Go slow, stop and check your progress often using your fingers (also in a linear motion) to remove the dust made by the pad and check the surface.
FINAL RESULT DEPENDS ON MANUAL SKILLS OF THE USER.
*You can also use a titanium refinishing pen, also sold on AMAZON, which also works really well.
